NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Cancellation and Paper Leak Investigation

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Cancellation and Paper Leak Investigation

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on 3 May 2026 following investigation inputs received from central agencies regarding alleged paper leak incidents. According to reports, investigators recovered circulated “guess papers” and question banks in Rajasthan and other states, with nearly 140 questions reportedly matching the actual NEET UG 2026 paper. Rajasthan investigators further claimed that around 60–70% of the examination questions were similar to leaked material allegedly sold for up to 5 lakh.

The Government of India has handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while Rajasthan SOG and other agencies continue probing a suspected organised leak network operating across multiple states. So far, 13 individuals have reportedly been detained in connection with the controversy.

NTA stated that the decision to cancel the exam was taken to ensure fairness, transparency, and trust in the national examination process. Fresh dates for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be announced soon through official NTA platforms. Candidates will not need to register again, and no additional examination fee will be charged. Existing application details will remain valid, and examination fees already paid by students will be refunded. Fresh admit cards and revised schedules will also be released officially. Candidates and parents have been advised to avoid rumours and follow only official announcements from NTA.
